(Hong Kong – 24 October 2015) Co-organised by TVB and StarHub, the StarHub TVB Awards 2015 had been successfully concluded tonight (24 October) at the Marina Bay Sands Grand Theatre. Captain Of Destiny, well-known for its authentic sea battles edited by computer animation, received the highest vote for “My Favourite TVB Drama”. The acclaimed artiste Liza Wong won “My Favourite TVB Actress” by her excellent acting talent, highest votes and sweeping popularity. What is more, she clinched “SG50: Star Of The Stars Awards”, “My Favourite TVB Variety Show Host” with Adam Cheng. Their hosted variety programme Sunday Songbird was recognised by audience as “My Favourite TVB Variety Programme”. Red-hot artiste Ruco Chan was crowned “My Favourite TVB Actor” for the second time by his popularity and remarkable acting talent!
In the sixth year running, the StarHub TVB Awards continues to recognise the hardship and talent of TVB artistes by bestowing awards upon them this year. Not only determined by the expert panels, the awardees were also voted by the audiences from 7 September to 20 October. At last, awardees in 17 categories were presented tonight.
“StarHub TVB Awards Red Carpet 2015” took place at the ice skating rink at Marina Bay Sands. Wayne Lai, Moses Chan, Ruco Chan, Lawrence Ng, Linda Chung, Kenneth Ma, Tavia Yeung, Edwin Siu, Vincent Wong, Nancy Wu, Louis Cheung, Tony Hung, Selena Li, Priscilla Wong, Eliza Sam, Lam Ha Mei, Grace Chan, Tracy Chu, Alfred Hui and Hubert Wu were all dressed beautifully and elegantly in the star venue, marking the event as one of the most glitziest shows ever! Media was attracted and fans kept cheering for their favourite artistes!
The ceremony was held at 7:45 pm after the red carpet. TVB artistes Carol Cheng, Derek Li and Amigo Choi were the host of the show. Nominees Liza Wang, Adam Cheng, Wayne Lai, Linda Chung, Vincent Wong, Nancy Wu, Louis Cheung, Alfred Hui and Hubert Wu were the show performers and they both delivered awesome singing performances. Meanwhile, executives also took part in the event as a support towards this ceremony, including Mr Tan Tong Hai, Chief Executive Officer of StarHub; Ms Jeannie Ong, Chief Strategic Partnership Officer of StarHub; Mr Kevin Lim, Chief Commercial Officer of StarHub; Mr Howie Lau, Chief Marketing Officer of StarHub; Mr Peter Au, Assistant General Manager of TVB; Ms Virginia Lok, Controller of Production Resources Division of TVB; Mr Sherman Lee, Controller of International Business Division of TVBI and Mr Philip Chan, Assistant Controller of Variety & Musical Department of TVB.
Liza Wang, veteran in the TV and film industry, has depicted a tremendous number of classic characters. Her performance in drama Limelight Years and variety programme Sunday Songbirds this year received a round of applause. Her splendid portrayal of a singing veteran in Limelight Years further brought her the crown of "My Favourite TVB Actress". The award was bestowed upon her by Mr Peter Au, Assistant General Manager of TVB. She was glad that audience liked her performance in Limelight Years, and showed her appreciation towards the production crew of the drama. At the same time, she and Adam Cheng were recognised as the best recipients of the special honour "SG50: Star Of The Stars Awards". This honour is newly added so as to celebrate the 50th birthday of Singapore and to recognise the great talent of the veterans. As the award itself implied, the success of the artiste is determined by time and the hardship paid, which is the same as a strong country is determined by time and effort. They were granted the title by Mr Tan Tong Hai, Chief Executive Officer of StarHub. They were proud of having this honour to accept the title. In addition, they also obtained "My Favourite TVB Variety Show Host". Their hosted variety programme Sunday Songbird was recognised as "My Favourite TVB Variety Programme". Liza and Adam expressed that this was their first time obtained the host award as partners in variety show. The most significant thing was that this was the first time for Liza to obtain awards from Singaporean awards presentation!

This year, he once again clinched the highly coveted "My Favourite TVB Actor" for the second time, consolidating his position as a credible and popular star in the Hong Kong Television industry. He was overwhelmed with joy and promised to bring more excellent performances to audience in the coming future. His participated drama Captain Of Destiny was voted by audience as "My Favourite TVB Drama". This drama is well-known for its authentic sea battles crafted by computer animation professionals. Main cast including Ruco Chan, Grace Chan and Tony Hung portrayed a complicated love relationship that lure the audience to watch. Ruco, Grace and Tony received the award from award presenters - Liza Wang and Adam Cheng. The main cast expressed their gratitude towards the appreciation of the audience, thanking them for casting a vote for the drama.
For "My Favourite TVB Male TV Character", the awardees were: Wayne Lai (depicting CHIANG YUEN in Overachievers), Kenneth Ma (depicting TO CHUN-FUNG in Noblesse Oblige), Lawrence Ng (depicting MAN SHEUNG-SHING in Tomorrow Is Another Day), Moses Chan (depicting KAM YIN-CHUNG in Every Step You Take), Edwin Siu (depicting LAW TAI-SHU in Madam Cutie On Duty) and Louis Cheung (depicting KAM WAH in Momentary Lapse Of Reason). For "My Favourite TVB Female TV Character", the awardees were: Eliza Sam (depicting LAU YEE / HUNG MAU-TAN in Under The Veil), Nancy Wu (depicting KEUNG YUNG in Ghost Of Relativity), Kristal Tin (depicting SUEN SHUK-MUI in Ghost Of Relativity), Tavia Yeung (depicting NG CHUN-NI in Eye In The Sky), Linda Chung (depicting CHUNG WAI-YAN in Tiger Cubs II), Selena Li (depicting CHOI KIN-CHING in Brick Slaves) and Priscilla Wong (depicting FA PING in Madam Cutie On Duty).
As for "My Favourite TVB supporting Actor", Vincent Wong had won the title for his performance in Tomorrow Is Another Day. Lam Ha Mei obtained "My Favourite TVB Supporting Actress" award by her incredible performance in Young Charioteers. She was overwhelmed with emotion and welled up with tears as this was her first time to be given an award that was related to her performance in dramas. Meanwhile, Tracy Chu, by her diversified plays in numerous dramas, obtained "Most Improved TVB Artiste". She kept challenging herself by depicting different types of characters, winning compliments from audience. TVB starlet Grace Chan took part in numerous dramas after winning the crown in Miss Hong Kong Pageant. Her brilliant performance was recognised and was grated "Best New TVB Artiste". She was glad to be presented with this award and promised to give more excellent performances to audience.
The real-life couple Edwin Siu and Priscilla won “My Favourite TVB On-Screen Couple”. Having collaborated in Madam Cutie On Duty, their on-screen chemistry had won the high appreciation from fans. During the show, Edwin celebrated Priscilla's yesterday birthday by singing the birthday song. The audience encouraged him by clapping hands! Alfred Hui and Hubert Wu were presented the award “My Favourite TVB Theme Song” for singing "The Truth", the theme song of Eye In The Sky. They thanked the audience and the composers of the song. As a token of appreciation, they delivered the awarded song at once on the stage.
For the infotainment programme category, Not Far But Away was elected as "My Favourite TVB Infotainment Programme". Tony Hung explored North Korea in the programme. To reveal the Koreans' lives, Tony took part in the Korean daily activities. Such an innovative infotainment programme was given "My Favourite TVB Infotainment Programme" award. Tony received the award and expressed his gratitude to audience on behalf of the production crew.
All artistes were dressed grandly and shown their charm to audiences. Linda Chung received "BottomSlim The Perfect Figure Award", while Grace Chan was given "Tokyo Bust Express The Sassy Award". All the award categories were announced and the award ceremony was drawn to a harmonious close by all the artistes and guests taking a group photo on stage at the end of the ceremony.
StarHub TVB Awards 2015 will be broadcast on 7 November at StarHub VV Drama, and on 5 December at TVB8 channel respectively. Stay tuned!
